Questions & answers

Q:
Is there a fee to park ?
A:
We paid $5 to park. I did not see free parking.
Q:
Can you bike on the river walk?
A:
The Riverwalk is not the best place since there are pedestrians that you have to look out for. But it really depends on how busy it is. It could be a lovely ride because of the scenery.

I am not sure about a riverboat tour on the river. Call the Augusta Visitors Center and they may be able to help. They helped us a lot when we were there. They are in the Augusta History Museum lobby. There is another boat tour that might interest you. The NPS runs the Augusta Canal park and they do boat tours on old long boats a few times a day. The afternoon tour highlights the civil war. You can get tickets for this on the Augusta Canal Park website. It is an open boat so take weather into account. They do allow you to bring water and sodas. Check the calander out as they sometimes run specials and evening rides.
Q:
Any nice restaurants in the immediate vicinity?
A:
Ben5170 pretty much summed it up. There is Boll Weevil right there but it looks like a bar so I didn't go in. All kinds of good restaurants back near I-20
