Yes, on some parts. You can also climb some of the towers (tight worn curly stair cases - as you'd expect in a castle of this age)...but bear in mind it's not for the faint hearted...I did it with a determined 3 year old and needed a pint to recover...he however loved it and still talks about it 9 months later.

As with all other public places, dogs need to be on a leash with usual restrictions on shops/cafes etc
