We were amazed at this site, although it does have many steps to climb to few the temple, it's well worth it. We're in our 70's and we slowly made the climb with little effort. The views at the top a…Full review by runner24

Think all the splendor and richness your mind can muster up, and chances are you’ll probably still be miles away from picturing the actual resplendency that coats the walls of these Royal Tombs. Jus…Full review by somewherelands

A huge areal with many ancient buildings. Feeding the carps was also truly refreshing. Beware of the slippery tiles, really dangerous.Full review by Matěj K

Yes, you can. We organised a 2 day tour with a private tour guide who was excellent - Ho Van Tam (otherwise known as Captain Tam as he has a dragon boat!) I am not allowed to give you his email address on this site. He got us a ticket for VND 360,000 to visit 4 tombs. We also went to the Royal Palace with him and did a trip on his dragon boat to visit some of the tombs on the Perfume River. If you don't want to use him, I am sure that you can buy the multiple entry ticket easily when you are in Hue.
Q:
Can you please let me know which tombs would involve the least amount of walking?
A:
I agree with Pedro R. Khai Dinh has steps ,but not long walks However, please go on a dry day,the rain makes the steps slippery. Also once inside ,short distances to walk .
Q:
Is it better to visit the Royal Tombs by going along the Perfume River, or by taxi?

by taxi

Hi all, How long would you say a visit to Hue would take? Both the citadel and the tombs. I would be arriving to Hue from Hoi An probably around 10 am. Would it be ok to visit during the day, maybe 4-5 hours, and then go (I would be heading to Phong Nha/ Son Trach) or is this just too short to see it ok? Any advice would be welcome, thanks!

The Old City - could take a few hours. However, just depends how long you want to stay there. We did not take the Tuk Tuk when we arrived at Old City but We would recommend that you do. Just tell them that you only have a certain amount of time. Also depends on the heat. It was very hot when we visited so quite hard going walking around. Hope that helps.

Which are the big four tombs along the Perfume River you (Adam W) mention in your Hue review? Thanks

We stopped at three tombs + a monastery - Tu Doc, Khai Dinh, and Ming Mang Mausoleums. Each was sufficiently different enough to merit visiting all three although the people at our hotel who arranged for the car/driver recommended we skip Tu Doc. I am glad we didn't. It made for a lovely day, returning by boat via Thien Mu Pagoda.
