We did this section of the cave as part of the river styx tour and I thought it was the best part! I had no idea if I was claustrophobic or not but I was ok. It takes 5-10 minutes and was a completel…Full review by Janet5238

I am of average weight, and although I may have had to crouch down or I may have had to walk sideways, I had no issues with my cave navigation. This tour is not for those without good mobility. I jus…Full review by TennisStar602

Actually not too hard to get through, just a lengthy (about 40 feet or so) trail that you have to turn sideways and manuever through. The narrow path is only about 2 to 3 feet high and wasn't diffic…Full review by Stephen S
Hi. We are going in late summer and would like to do Fat Man's Misery. What tour should we book because I don't see it listed. Thanks.

The Historic tour was one of the tours we did and you go through Fat Man’s Misery. Do make reservations in advance because all of the tours sell out very fast. Enjoy your trip.
My family (husband and I and 2 sons - 16 and 14) is planning on visiting Mammoth Caves in early August we're trying to decide which tour to take. My husband is slightly claustrophobic (if stuck in a tight spot for an extended time frame) and has back issues on and off. I see the Fat Man's Misery is on the Historic Tour, so that's probably out. Are there tight / twisty spots on the Domes and Dripstones Tour as well? That looks like the better option for us, but we'd be interested in other's thought.

This historic tour didn't bother my claustrophobic husband, but he did hit his head a couple of time through the low ceiling areas. My husband and I are in our 60's. the biggest challenge of this tour was walking up the tower which is several stories of steel stairs at once. We had to stop about 3 times. This moderate trip is at the high end of moderate I would say. Need to make reservation a month early to get an easy tour. We enjoyed it but having been to Carlsbad Caverns several times this tour was not near as pretty.
