Ride share, taxi, or bus to Grand Central Station. Take MetroNorth to Beacon, NY. Ride share (or walk ~2 miles) to Mt Beacon.

I walked there. It was a nice walk through town on Main street which takes you to Beacon Falls. Then you wind your way through some neighborhoods a bit and get to the entrance. I would say it's a 15-20 minute walk from the train station. In my opinion, not bad at all. Especially if you're about to go to that massive hike! The walk to the entrance is nothing!
