Lengthy, wide, clean, white sand beach, quiet, relaxing, driving and parking on the beach, constant monitoring by beach patrol, plenty of space for swimming and fishing, shelling, etc.Full review by Greg P

Although we have a beach that is closer, this is our favorite by far. Always interesting things to do nearby including restaurants and shops. Check it out.Full review by runner24
We love to swim and had planned on a day on New Smyrna beach..however the mention of sharks close to shore has put me right off.Is this usual in all the NE Florida beaches?
We are coming in 2 weeks and heard there's tons of seaweed at cocoa beach. Can any tell me if it's better at new Smyrna? Thank you.

I’ve lived at NJ shore all my life and seaweed can occur anytime there are storms, temperature changes, currents, etc. Seaweed can come anytime/anywhere at the shore with some weather conditions.
Is there a nice snorkeling place. What about a boat tour out to a nice spot for shelling and swimming.

There are rental kayak, canoo, and many enjoyable boat rides out of New Smyna and other local towns available. We really liked the airboat rides with our kids and as a couple. We also enjoyed deep sea fishing with our kids. We also enjoyed the dinner cruise boat rides as a couple. We also enjoyed the old paddleboat rides as a couple. You may see some manatees, dolphins, sharks, and lots of birds. Enjoy picture taking. Be safe if you go in the ocean water. Strong waves, undertow and animal life...
