Tipsy tubing was so much fun and definitely a highlight of our trip! There are some bumpy parts of the river and some rocks that you can hit. But as long as you are a strong swimmer you should be fin…Full review by stephaniewalden1992

We got picked up from our hostel at 12pm and started on the river not too long after that. We were told lots of people would be doing it but this was not the case. There were two other people dropped…Full review by Camh4835
yes, you'll be fine. make sure to ask for a life jacket, all decent tubing offices should have one for you. it's low season so it's actually quite shallow in parts also.
I am looking to go Mid March but keep reading conflicting views of brilliant \ dead don't go. has anyone gone recently or in March?

How do you get back from the end of the tubing? Thank you!

Hi! The tubing that we did (the white painted tubes) finish in the middle of the town (Vang Vieng) there are people there who will guide you in the direction that you need to walk to get your tube back to the shop! It’s like a 5 minute walk!
I am going to Vang Vieng in july. I want to know if it is safe, I mean tide and waves. Plus, I dont know swimming. Is tubing only for people who know how to swim?

There are no tides or waves, however although the river is generally shallow (deep in parts) and placid it is fast flowing in places. Life jackets are available for those who need them. If you book the river tubing and end up in a group you will probably have a guide who travels down the river with you, so check if this is the case when you make the booking. I would not recommend zip lining into the river if you are not a good swimmer as the places we went that had this was where the river was deep and fast flowing, and do not wear a life jacket when zip lining into the river as this is very dangerous. Remember to bring a sealable waterproof bag (on sale in Vang Vieng for a couple of dollars). It is seriously worth doing so have fun.
