Allow 1-2 hours, that should be sufficient, but if you are on a whirlwind tour like a lot of Americans who come here, see the castle first, enjoy the touristy shopping mall opposite the castle, the high street and the Cathedral with round tower, before you go in here. That's my opinion. Have a great time whatever you do.
