Yes! I was shocked at how such an important site is so little-known. One interesting thing is that the staff at the snake centre next door told me their snakes are only kept in cages for a short period so they can have health checks and their records taken. Then they are released back into the surrounds of the temple compound and new ones caught for research. This included the deadly Black Mambas which were trying to attack the glass enclosures as we walked past. Eek!
Hi. Kindly to inform you that, Gedi Ruins is open to public from Monday to Sunday including all the holidays in Kenya from 6 am to 6 pm. Apart from the precious ruins we do also have a snake rescue center and a butterfly farm. You are all welcomed.
