This was our 4th Castle on our Scotland trip and the only one that was in ruins. As you can imagine it was in a bit of a mess, comes with being hit by cannon balls and nobody wanting to have the cost…Full review by Ibrahim G

We absolutely loved Tantallon Castle. The scenery around it is stunning - it is right on the sea with isles spotted in the surrounding waters - and the towns nearby are very friendly with great food.…Full review by Laur6767
Hi, there are disabled parking spaces right next to the shop. A sign at the larger car park also mentions the 2nd car park which can accommodate around 10 small vehicles.

Yes, as I recall. Don't park in the first lot, keep on driving down toward the shop and you'll find some spaces near the shop. However, it is then a bit of a trek to the castle itself.

I would say you may be able to get the wheelchair from the reception/check in spot to the castle, but it would be quite bumpy, and depending on the chair and the person, it could be difficult. Once you get there, you can take in the views, which are amazing, but there is a lot of climbing within the ruins. I hope that helps.
Is it safe for small children to visit? Ages 2, 4, 6. Thanks!
A:
They would need close supervision in the castle, as it has steep drops, behind fences, and steep stairs. It's a consequence of the design and purpose of a castle.
