Hi! Im looking to visit the aquarium with my daughter in January. are a lot of the exhibits indoors? I wanted you see if it was worth it to go. I'd rather not be walking outside a lot in the cold. Thanks for your help

Dear Jamie, I have to admit that the Aquarium outside will be cold depending on the temperature that time of the year and the wind off the ocean can be bad but on a nice sunny day, it is a pleasure. Most of the animals are used to the weather. Inside there is lots to do. The new Shark Tanks should not be missed and there is an interesting Coral Reef display that is very interesting. It shows the pattern of life at the reef and what can happen if it is abused. There are lots of indoor tanks to explore and new displays opening up so check the website. Also check with the hours because they do have a "pay as you wish" some afternoons and with the winter months coming you might want to check that out. If the restaurant is not open, walk down Surf Avenue to Nathan's for a hot dog, trust me it is worth the price and their French Fries are the best! Or stop at Garguilos for Italian food. Their food is delicious as well. Wilson's Candy on Surf Avenue is worth the trip for their candy covered marshmallows and apples. Lots to do in Coney Island.
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone happened to visit the aquarium on a Saturday afternoon? Was it very crowded like I'm thinking it would be? Thanks for any help!

I visited on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. It was not crowded.

This is New York City, my friend. Nothing is free unless you're a toddler. Seriously it's a big expense maintaining marine life so they need all the money they can get. However order the tickets online instead of paying at the entrance. It's about 50% off so at least that is a big savings. Just show the ticket on your smartphone or print it and take it with you.
