MARTIN COUNTY — A $45 million deal was struck Tuesday for a Brightline train station in downtown Stuart, just months after city commissioners there rescinded a similar deal. County commissioners approved it unanimously at a packed County Commission meeting, with about an equal number of supporters and detractors in the audience.

The Brightline is back on track for the Treasure Coast. After nearly a two-and-a-half-hour discussion, the Martin County Board of Commissioners unanimously passed its Brightline plan on Tuesday. This decision comes after the City of Stuart voted against the $60 million deal on September 9,

The county will offer up two locations for a station: downtown by the Martin County Courthouse and at the Martin County Fairgrounds.
