When all is said and done with the 2025 NFL free agent market, the Miami Dolphins likely will have re-signed somewhere around a third of their 26 pending unrest

And when the time comes, just got to make the best decision for myself. … I’d love to be back in Miami.”

As of Tuesday, NFL teams may designate a franchise player with a tag that would ensure that one of their impending free agents stays for at least one more year. While the Miami Dolphins have a long list of players set to hit the market in March, don’t expect them to use the franchise tag on any of them.

The Dolphins' cap situation makes it a challenge for them to spend franchise tag money on Holland, who, despite a mediocre 2024 campaign, can still generate plenty of interest from teams looking to shore up their defense, particularly against the pass.

Placing a $19.6 million franchise tag on Jevon Holland is unlikely, especially with him coming off his worst season.
