The teenage female student was riding her bike Wednesday in the area of Race Track Road and South Branch Drive when she was hit by a vehicle at about 7 a.m.

A student was critically injured after being hit by a car near Fruit Cove Middle School and airlifted to the hospital.

St. Johns County sheriff's deputies responded to a crash on Race Track Road Wednesday morning, as a middle school student was airlifted from the scene. The St. Johns County School District told First Coast News the student is a teenage girl who goes to Fruit Cove Middle School.
