Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell has done a terrific job this season. But his future in Minnesota seems far more certain than that of defensive coordinator Brian Flores.

As the Vikings prepare for a playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night in Inglewood, Calif., their defensive coordinator, Brian Flores, has started to garner interest from a number of teams searching for their next head coach.

Flores, who previously served as Dolphins head coach from 2019-21, has had interview requests from the Jets and Bears as he prepares the Vikings defense for the playoffs.

Flores got his coaching start with the Patriots organization as a special teams assistant. He worked his way up the ladder, becoming the linebackers coach and defensive play-caller. After winning Super Bowl LIII with New England, Flores then went on to serve as the head coach for the Miami Dolphins from 2019-2021.

Brian Flores is gracefully taking a lot of questions about his head coach prospects. He said he will take every interview that is requested. Asked if he is interested in the Patriots job, he said: "I would say yes." But he added "it's not up to me" if they want to talk.
