With 2024 in the rearview mirror, a clearer picture of the auto industry’s year is becoming clearer. Automakers selling in the United States saw big gains in electric vehicle sales, though there’s speculation that the potential loss of tax credits coming with the Trump administration drove sales late in the year.

Nine out of ten new cars sold in Norway last year were powered by battery only, registration data showed on Thursday, placing the country within reach of its target of only adding cars that are electric on the road by 2025.

Norway's electric vehicle sales have reached a milestone, with 88.9% of new cars sold in 2024 being fully electric, reported Reuters, citing Norwegian Road Federation data. This marks an increase from the 82.

The Norwegian Road Traffic Information Council (OFV) has revealed 128,691 new vehicles were bought in the country last year. That’s a relatively small number, but 114,400 of them were electric.
