“ The Franchise ” has been canceled after one season at HBO. The satirical comedy series about the making of a superhero movie was created by Jon Brown (“Succession,” “Veep”) and executive produced by Sam Mendes (“1917,” “Skyfall”) and Armando Iannucci (“Veep”).
