Barcelona fans travelling to Lisbon to support their team on Tuesday in the Champions League match against Benfica will be watching the sky with the forecast of rain during the match, which they expect to be hard-fought but where they hope to take the three points.

Benfica forward Vangelis Pavlidis has scored the third-fastest hat trick at the start of a Champions League game on Tuesday, against Barcelona. The Greece international scored two minutes into the match and then in the 22nd and 30th minutes as Benfica led Barcelona 3-1 at halftime.

Portugal’s Benfica entertain Spain’s Barcelona in the league stage of the UEFA Champions League. The match at the Stadium of Light in Lisbon, Portugal, kicks off at 8pm (20:00 GMT). Benfica are second in their domestic league, Primeira Liga, three points behind cross-city rivals Sporting Lisbon, but are 15th in the 36-team league stage in Europe.
