Preliminary information suggests Barbara Dipoli, of Topeka, died of a presumed medical episode during the flight, officials said.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, 53-year-old Barbara Dipoli of Topeka, Kansas, was a passenger on an Air France flight from Paris to Boston when she suffered a medical episode during the flight. The episode resulted in her untimely passing. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Calling it “an unattended death” aboard the flight, Massachusetts State Police said someone called the Crime Scene Services Section about the death.
