There’s about 4,500 polar bears in the three Hudson Bay populations and 55,000 beluga whales. Together, that’s more than 141 million pounds of fat large mammals.
There are roughly 1,700 polar bears around Hudson Bay. The most famous of these resides during the summer and early fall near the town of Churchill on the western side of the bay.
