The city of Greenwood boasts a marker on the Mississippi Blues Trail because it's where guitarist B.B. King performed his first live broadcast — in 1940 at the WGRM radio station on Howard Street.

A celebration of the life of Kelvin Billups of Minter City will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Money. Mr. Billups, 33, died Sunday, April 13, 2025.
