Google has reportedly began testing a darker dark mode for some users on desktop and mobile. The release has been spotty for some who are still seeing the dark gray hue on their devices.

Some ascribe to the belief that "true black" dark mode does better for battery saving as compared to just a dark gray. Now we have evidence for the debate.
