The barn wood siding was installed as a "rainscreen". The vernacular construction technique allows for small gaps between the boards that lets air circulate around them.
It channels the local vernacular and references the form and materiality of barns. In fact, its exterior cladding was made using wood reclaimed from an agricultural structure planned to be demolished.
