The talking iPhone and Pixel are back, as Google congratulates Apple on (finally) joining the RCS messaging party.

The Pixel 9 Pro's screen is brighter, with a touch higher resolution compared to the iPhone, although the real-world difference may be minimal. The iPhone 16 Pro's A18 Pro chip is far more powerful than the Tensor G4 chip in the Pixel 9 Pro. It's ideal for gaming and AI applications.

However, the iPhone 16 Pro blows the S24 Ultra out of the water, coming out 47% faster on single-core testing and 15% faster on multi-core tests. Meanwhile, the Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are really trailing behind, with the Tensor G4 still not living up to the performance prowess of rival chipsets.

RCS messaging just rolled out for iPhones with iOS 18, but the GSMA is now looking ahead to allow end-to-end encrypted messages between iPhones and Android devices.
