It could take more than two years to conclude a proposed merger between Kean University and New Jersey City University, campus officials said in a newly-released timeline.

Kean University officials said they will work with NJCU to "negotiate a letter of intent" over the next several weeks to complete the combination of school. The proposal came from Kean University.
