Five soldiers from Company B were killed in March 2004 in Iraq when a bomb exploded beneath their M113. In all, 10 soldiers from the battalion have died in combat in Iraq.

The M113 is one of the oldest and least valuable pieces of NATO equipment that the West has provided to Ukraine. The "trophy" presented by the Russians is essentially a 70-year-old piece of equipment.
