The survey found that 81 percent believe it’s important for young people to have someone to look up to – and 56 percent of respondents believe they’re a role model for others.
Think about that one person you've always admired. You know, your go-to role model. Maybe it's your mom, your favorite teacher, or that celebrity who really seems to have their sh*t together.
And -- most importantly -- you should be your own role model because the people you look up to might not be able to fulfill those roles forever. They could give up on themselves at any moment.
Role models can be as fictional as a super strong, colorful-spandex-wearing superhero, or as visceral as a celebrity, athlete or police officer. It all depends on the person looking up.
