Epic Universe, the first major new theme park in the US in 20-plus years, is opening in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday. Fans are expected to camp out overnight ahead of the official opening day.

Universal Studios opened its new theme park Epic Universe and it hopes the five new worlds will help it take on rival Disney and bring in millions of visitors.

Universal’s parent, Comcast, spent $7B to create and build the first major U.S. amusement park to open in more than 20 years. The park, called Epic Universe, is a critical element of Comcast's push to make the Universal Orlando Resort into a Disney-esque weeklong destination, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The first park that we visited was the Isle of Berk. Based on Dreamworks’ beloved How to Train Your Dragon movies, Isle of Berk recreates the hometown of protagonist Hiccup. It features the most animatronics out of any Universal park, with dragons scattered across the park. It’s an O-shaped park, with a large body of water in the middle.

Cypress Gardens, opened by Dick Pope Sr. in Winter Haven, was Florida’s first commercial theme park, famous for botanical gardens and water ski shows. Legoland Florida replaced it in 2011, offering Lego-themed rides and family attractions for kids 2-12.
