On the heels of several major arrests last month as part of an anti-human trafficking initiative, we wanted to take a closer look at trafficking in the Basin; officials said the Permian is a major hub for human trafficking across the country.

The Texas DPS arrested over 20 individuals and rescued 4 victims in a human trafficking crackdown in the Permian Basin, with multiple agencies contributing to the operation.

In January, multiple agencies worked with the Texas Department of Public Safety to help stop the exploitation and victimization of trafficked victims.
