A rainbow cloud is a similar rainbow, halo, sundog, circumhorizontal arc, because it forms due to the diffraction or refraction of light. In 2018, a similar "fire rainbow" was spotted in Vermont.
The phenomena, though, was actually a cloud and not a rainbow. A Pileus cloud, also referred to as a cap cloud and a scarf cloud, was visible in Haikou on August 21.
