A subsidiary of La Crosse-based City Brewing Co. will make Samuel Adams beer for Boston Beer Co. at the Latrobe, Pa., brewery that the La Crosse company purchased in September from InBev USA.
Shares of Boston Beer rose 1.6% by the closing bell on Tuesday, after the beer company said it would begin brewing its Sam Adams brand at the Latrobe plant, the former Rolling Rock brewery.
A billion bottles of beer: Nowhere in the nation brews more craft beer than Pa. But most of Samuel Adams is not brewed in Boston or even Massachusetts. It's produced in the Keystone State.
