Condolences were pouring in Friday for the Barcelona family that perished in a helicopter accident an ocean away.

A tourist helicopter crashed in New York's Hudson River off lower Manhattan on Thursday afternoon, killing all six people on board. It was the latest in a series of accidents involving choppers operating around the city in recent years.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating what went wrong, and officials are expected to provide an update sometime Friday. CBS News New York's Kristie Keleshian reports.

Among the victims was a family of Spanish tourists, including Siemens executive Agustin Escobar as well as his wife and three children.

Following Thursday’s deadly helicopter crash into the Hudson River, there is some renewed scrutiny towards these types of flights. Prior to Thursday’s incident, there had been three prior deadly helicopter crashes in the last 20 years.
