The new low power Core 2 Quad S-series initially consists of 3 chips, the Q9550S, Q9400S and the Q8200S. A fourth chip, the Q8400S will be arriving on April 19th.

The new quad-core series consists of the Core 2 Quad Q6600 and the Core 2 Extreme QX6700. Both feature a dual 4MB L2 cache, operate on a 1066MHz FSB, and have a thermal output of 130 watts.

That said, we feel the Core 2 Duo E6700, Core 2 Extreme X6800, and Pentium D 950 systems will give readers a clear idea of where this new quad-core Intel processor stands.
