The Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to the Nintendo Switch system, will be released in 2025. In a new promotional video, Nintendo showed off a larger version of the Switch that looks similar to its predecessor.

Nintendo has unveiled the long-awaited successor to its popular Switch video game console: the Nintendo Switch 2. First-look images at the console design and a teaser trailer were revealed by Nintendo Thursday, but the Japan-based video game company has held back the price tag for the Switch 2 as well as the official release date.

Primarily, the Switch 2 will be an evolution of its predictor, namely, this isn't a surprising generational shake-up as Nintendo has done in the past

The Nintendo Switch 2's specs are still a bit of a mystery, but the one official video teaser still revealed a lot.

The company released a teaser trailer offering a first look at the new console, the Switch 2. While similar to the original device, the Switch 2 appears to be larger, with a new kickstand and a rounder, sleeker design. The Joy-Cons, which also are updated, will still be removable for docked or portable play.

Details of what the Nintendo Switch 2 can actually do are somewhat scare at the moment, but there's one thing it could do to surpass the first Switch.
