South Korea's transport minister Park Sang-woo said on Tuesday that he intends to step down from his position to take responsibility for the deadly crash of Jeju Air's Boeing jet on December 29, which killed 179 people on board.

The South Korean authorities have extended the closure of a south-western airport where a Jeju Air plane crashed and killed 179 people on board, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said on Jan.

Park Sang-woo, the Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (국토교통부, MOLIT) of South Korea, has said that he would resign following the Jeju Air crash that happened on December 29, 2024.
