The Ohio State Buckeyes sat third in the country in most polls coming into a home battle with Purdue Saturday. Ohio State came out on top 45-0 against the side that had yet to win a Big Ten game this season.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are one of four teams within the top five of the most recent College Football AP Polling.

Ohio State rose one spot and is now the second ranked team in the country in both the Associated Press poll and USA Today Coaches poll for Week 12. The Buckeyes only sit behind No. 1 Oregon, the lone team they have lost to.

Jeremiah Smith has played a large role for the Buckeyes all season and that continued on Saturday catching all but one of his seven targets for 87 yards and a touchdown. He also led the offense with a Pro Football Focus grade of 80.6. It’s his second-highest grade of the season.

Jeremiah Smith came into Saturday with the most receiving yards as a freshman at Ohio State, and he left with a few more records.

Will Howard threw three touchdown passes and rushed for another score, Jeremiah Smith broke the Ohio State freshman receiving record with his ninth touchdown of the season and the No. 3 Buckeyes rolled over Purdue 45-0 on Saturday.
