During a tour of the historic King’s Theater in Edinburgh, photographer Mike Hume was perched atop scaffolding some 40 feet above the stage ... the theater’s proscenium arch.

Use the newly-created hole to help start a cut safely, then cut out the shaded section to reveal the stage front (what's known as the 'proscenium arch'). Do the same for the left and right pieces.

A disadvantage is that the audience can be quite far from the stage, making it difficult for them to see and hear the performers and be as immersed in the action.
