Sometimes, puck luck just isn't on your side. It wasn't for the Seattle Kraken as they wrapped up a five-game trip Thursday at Western Conference-leading Winnipeg.

The Kraken keep attempting to repeat their past that led to a 2023 playoff run. But they've failed to repeat that formula, and now must consider a rebuild.

Dylan DeMelo scored with 27 seconds remaining in the third period as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the visiting Seattle Kraken 2-1 Thursday night to remain tied with Washington for first place in the NHL’s overall standings.

It was a bad night for Seattle to be missing a top penalty killer. Winger Brandon Tanev was ruled out due to illness. Tye Kartye, who was scratched in favor of John Hayden during the Kraken’s last game in Pittsburgh, went back in for Tanev.

WINNIPEG -- Dylan DeMelo broke a tie with 27 seconds remaining in the third period, and the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Seattle Kraken 2-1 at Canada Life Centre on Thursday.

Seattle (19-23-3) reached Tuesday’s final period in Pittsburgh down a single goal in front of goaltender Joey Daccord (31 saves). A pair of Kraken conversions 50 seconds apart from defenseman Jamie Oleksiak and winger Eeli Tolvanen gave them a narrow lead, then Kaapo Kakko added an empty-netter for a 4-2 victory against the Penguins.

The Penguins suffered their third straight loss on Tuesday, January 14th, falling 4-2 to the Seattle Kraken at PPG Paints Arena. Despite a strong effort throughout the game, the Penguins were unable to overcome the Kraken’s potent offense and ultimately fell short in their bid to break the losing streak.

The Rangers dominated the first part of overtime, including several chances on a power play, before the Avalanche capitalized in the final minute of overtime. Logan O'Connor passed it to MacKinnon above the left circle, MacKinnon sent a pass to Toews in the right circle, and he beat Shesterkin on the short side to win it for Colorado.

Jamie Oleksiak and Eeli Tolvanen scored 49 seconds apart in the third period to erase a one-goal deficit and rally the Seattle Kraken past the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2

The winning goal came after a clearance attempt by Seattle defenseman Adam Larsson attempt took a strange carom off the side glass and fell to the Jets' Nikolaj Ehlers. He passed to DeMelo, whose wrist shot from the top of the left faceoff circle beat a screened Daccord to the top far corner of the net.
