Abraham Lincoln made a stopover at Cincinnati on his way to his inauguration in 1861, just as the nation was falling apart.

The 2025 Lincoln Day Dinner for the Wood County Republican Party will be held on Thursday, March 6, at Nazareth Hall, Grand Rapids. The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the tickets costing $60.

Brian “Fox” Ellis will portray Lincoln’s law partner, William Herndon, at the Sterling-Rock Falls' Historical Society meeting at 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at LLC, 611 E. Third St., Sterling.
