Charles Dolan, who helped pioneer pay television with the founding of Home Box Office Inc. and Cablevision Systems Corp., has died at 98, according to a spokesperson for the Dolan family.

Charles Dolan, a cable pioneer and patriarch of the Dolan family that controls media companies, entertainment venues and sports teams, died December 28 of natural causes, Newsday reported.
