Update: Clay Fire in Riverside County still at 85% containment as of Thursday evening
Clay Fire initially started 5 p.m. Jan. 21 in Riverside County. After being active for two days, it has burned 39 acres. As of Thursday evening, 85% of the fire was brought under containment by a crew of 50 firefighters. The cause of it remains under investigation.
The Clay Fire has sparked in Riverside County on Tuesday night as wildfires continue to plague Southern California.
The fire was reported just before 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13 and has prompted an evacuation warning in the area.
The smoke was too thick for the family to go back into the home to search for the cats. The house was badly damaged.
