Meniscal tears can be either traumatic or degenerative in nature. Meniscal tears are uncommon in persons under 10 years of age, but become increasingly common during and after adolescence.

There are three types of tilted pelvis: anterior pelvic tilt, posterior pelvic tilt, and pelvic obliquity. Each has different symptoms and treatments. A forward tilt is called an anterior pelvic tilt.
