The self-taught artist Abraham Lincoln Walker worked in his basement on phantasmagorical paintings, discovered by the art world more than 30 years after his death.

Williams started his career in acting by performing in several off-Broadway shows. His theatre comedy Home performed by the Negro Ensemble Company was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Play.
