Chris Evans seemingly contradicted reports that he would return as Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, in the next 'Avengers' movie, saying about the casting rumors, 'That’s not true, though. This always happens.

Chris Evans is denying the reports claiming that he'll appear in Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday. Evans has played Captain America/Steve Rogers in a number of MCU projects. His final outing as the character was seemingly in 2019's Avengers: Endgame;

“That’s not true, though,” Evans said when asked about the rumours. “This always happens. I mean, it happens every couple years—ever since Endgame. I’ve just stopped responding to it. Yeah, no—happily retired!”
