After the Saints fired coach Dennis Allen last week, one of interim coach Darren Rizzi’s first acts was to make sure he could get players to still buy in. And he quickly found that commitment in Kamara — which is why Rizzi decided to name him a team captain on Saturday, a day before his record-breaking performance.

Alvin Kamara breaks Saints franchise rushing record
Saints star Alvin Kamara went into Sunday's game needing just 12 yards to break the team's franchise rushing record. In the first quarter, Kamara rushed 18 passed Mark Ingram on the Saint's all-time rushing list.
Saints' Alvin Kamara: Tops 100 scrimmage yards in win
Kamara carried the ball 17 times for 55 yards and caught five of six targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Falcons. While he had trouble breaking a big gain on the ground, Kamara led the Saints in receptions and targets on the day and reached 100 scrimmage yards for the third straight contest and the seventh time this season in 10 games.
