ESPN wanted to cover Luka Dončić’s debut with the Los Angeles Lakers. In a quest to do that, the network might have created several issues for itself. Making matters worse, ESPN created those issues by covering a game that will likely not feature Dončić or LeBron James.

On Saturday night, the Los Angeles Lakers stunned the NBA world by acquiring Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks. The Lakers sent Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a future first-round pick to the Mavs in a three-team deal that also involved the Utah Jazz .
