" Secret Mall Apartment " is opening at the Showcase Cinemas in Providence Place on Friday, March 21, under the events cinema marquee, with five showings currently listed for that day: 10:15 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3:15 p.m., 6:15 p.m. and 9 p.m., with a bevy of seats already sold for the 6:15 p.m. showing.

If you’ve ever visited the Place mall, you may have been asked, “Did you know someone lived in this mall for years and no one knew?” Perhaps you brushed that off as an urban legend.

In 2003, a group of artists created a hidden space inside Providence Place where they ended up living for four years. The group was banned from the mall for life after they were discovered by security in 2007.
