You’ll still have access to monthly PS4 games you’ve already redeemed, but Sony is shifting its focus more fully to PS5.

Sony has announced a key change for the future of PlayStation Plus. Sony will shift away from offering PS4 games as it looks to focus on PS5 games instead. Sony said it's making this change as part of the evolution of PS Plus overall. This isn't starting soon, though, and will begin in January 2026.

Sony has announced it's shifting the focus of its PlayStation Plus monthly games and Game Catalog updates toward PlayStation 5 titles starting early next year, and that PlayStation 4 games will only "occasionally" feature thereafter.

Sony is once again shaking up its leadership ranks. Effective April 1, Hideaki Nishino will be president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). Nishino was appointed CEO of the division's Platform Business Group last year.

Hiroki Totoki is now the CEO of Sony Corporation, as Hideaki Nishino is now the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Sony has announced leadership changes coming into effect in April 2025 with the CEO positions for the entire Group and SIE changing hands.

PlayStation announced via a blog post that it was going to start offering players on PC bonus in-game items and rewards if they chose to create and login with a PSN

Following protests, PlayStation maker Sony is backpedaling its PSN requirement policy for several of its games on PC.

PlayStation announced that it will be offering some in-game rewards for those who play its games on PC while logged in to a PSN account. PlayStation also clarified that a PSN account will become optional for select titles on PC, which is a change from previous mandatory PSN account requirements on PC.
