Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, whose bag check dominated the political discussions on the poll-bound state today, played it down in an interview with NDTV, saying it was a routine matter for him at election time and not worthy of social media posts.

Mumbai: Amid Uddhav Thackeray's charges, a video has surfaced showing poll authorities checking Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde ’s bags. Shinde arrived at the Palghar Police Ground helipad on Wednesday for an election campaign event when officials inspected his belongings.

In a video obtained by India Today TV, the chief minister was seen engaging with the poll officials as they checked the helicopter and skimmed through his belongings.

Union Minister and BJP leader Nitin Gadkari's helicopter was checked after Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray accused poll officials of checking his bags on multiple occasions in an attempt to target the Opposition.
