The MBTA will close portions of the Green Line, Orange Line and Mattapan Trolley in the coming weeks amid a continued push to dramatically upgrade its transit network and improve train service. The latest shutdowns come as T is midway through a 24-day closure of a lengthy portion of the Red Line for similar maintenance.

The MBTA has announced service changes for October on the Mattapan, Green, and Orange lines as they continue to work on maintaining their infrastructure and improving reliability across the system.

On Wednesday, MBTA officials announced several service suspensions that will allow for repairs and maintenance work during October. Free shuttle buses will be deployed throughout the month and riders are being encouraged to use the commuter rail when possible. From approximately 11:30 p.m. through the end of service from Sept. 22 – 26.

Mattapan Line, Green Line, and Orange Line riders can expect service changes in October, the MBTA announced Wednesday.
